Everyone who purchases an electric car must obviously commit to having a charging station installed in the home, but when it comes to travel across the nation it is important to know that there is also a need for EV charging companies to add to the stations that are available throughout the country. The latest research indicates that as of December 31, 2017, there were an estimated 20,178 EV public and private charging locations in the U.S. Of those, 86.9% of them were available to the public. Obviously, there are still costs involved with driving an electric car. In fact, fueling a car with electricity is roughly the same as purchasing gas at $1 a gallon if you were fueling with gasoline.
